Global Food Forums Protein Seminar
Kara Nielsen moderated the Challenger Brand panel at Global Food Forums’ Sixth Annual Protein Trends & Technologies Business Strategies Seminar in Chicago in May. The panel included entrepreneurs well versed in both animal and plant protein products: Vital Protein, Miyoko’s Creamery, Beyond Meat and the CEO of The Hatchery, a Chicago-based new food company incubator. Kara kicked off the session with an overview of the current protein trend and then led the panel in a lively discussion about the obstacles panelists faced launching their unique companies, the lessons they learned being challengers to the status quo, and their impressions of the dynamic protein marketplace with compelling offerings of all kinds to serve consumers’ wide protein needs.
